In the case of Maarten Van Montfoort, the Taste Ibiza team were tasked with creating not 1, not 2, but 3 huge birthday celebrations. Firstly a visit to super club Ushuaïa, which doubled up as a workforce incentive’. A pool party and BBQ for Maartens family and closest friends at their holiday home in Cala Vadella. Then a third celebration aboard a catamaran. Three very different celebrations with one goal in mind- the party of a lifetime!
Maarten’s Triple Birthday Celebration
Work meets Play
Maarten was searching for an incentive for his workforce. He wanted to offer them a prize of a lifetime as a reward for hitting their sales targets for the previous year. Maarten owns a holiday home in Cala Vadella here in Ibiza and was already planning to visit around the time of his birthday. Maarten contacted us for ideas of what he could offer his superstar workers. The list included a variety of options from top notch hotels, days out exploring and taking part in activities, to boat trips and visits to Formentera. The cherry on top was of course, a VIP table experience at any of Ibizas famous clubs. After discussing various options it became clear that Maarten was very excited about the idea of visiting Ushuaïa to see one of his favourite DJ’s Martin Garrix. Whilst the original idea was for Maarten to go to this party with some of his friends, he decided that his workforce would also thoroughly enjoy the experience and decided that this would be the ideal incentive prize. He treated his team to accommodation in the Ushuaïa Beach Hotel. They opted for superior swim up rooms, meaning they had their own swimming pool literally outside their balconies. What better way to enjoy the visit?
VIP table - Martin Garrix at Ushuaïa
Martin Garrix is a firm favourite at the daytime super club Ushuaïa. What better way to celebrate than with front row seats to the hottest party in town? Maarten and his team were met at the door of Ushuaïa by their Taste Ibiza host. The TI host had already been in to check the location of the table and make sure everything was ready and waiting for their arrival. When the whole group had arrived, they were given their wristbands and escorted directly to their VIP table.
Maarten had opted for one of the front tables of VIP 2, this area has great views of the stage and is the second closest area to the dancefloor and DJ. At Taste Ibiza, we always recommend the best table for your budget and Maarten and his group were very excited when they saw the location of their table. However on this occasion we were able to arrange an upgrade to VIP 1, which includes the best seats in the house! Read more about this below in the Unforgettable Moment section.
Once the group were seated and settled with glass of Champagne in hand, the Taste Ibiza host left them to enjoy their night of birthday celebrations. They were collected at midnight by their private minibus and taken back to their accommodation, ready to do it all again the following day for Maarten’s birthday pool party.
Pool Party
Maarten and Natalie’s family holiday home is nestled into the side of the cliff in the beautiful Cala Vadella. The house is a family friendly town house with a swimming pool and garden in a residential area of the seaside town. They wanted to celebrate in style and show their friends and work associates alike a fantastic time in the comforting surroundings of their Ibiza home.
Here at Taste Ibiza, we made it our mission to deliver a tasteful and unforgettable birthday party for Maarten. The set up included sound system and lighting, DJ, bar, catering, birthday cake and hostess’s. We also provided decoration in the way of a chill out area with Moroccan style furniture and styling along with a photo opportunity on the way in.
We provided Maarten and Natalie with a variety of suggestions for on island DJ’s. One of which they decided had the best musical profile for them. We worked with them in the months leading up to the event to organise the catering and bar options. Making sure the bar was fully stocked with their favourite drinks and cocktail ingredients. The canapés were planned perfectly to match the taste of the guests and the overall style of the event.
We took the team in early on the morning of the party to set up whilst not disturbing the guests (who were indoors nursing their hangovers from the previous days party at Ushuaïa.) The full set up was installed for the party and when Maarten and Natalie emerged later that day, everything was ready and in place.
We organised a full event team to direct traffic and ensure the parking was taken care of without disturbing any neighbours. Then the guests were escorted into the party by our hostess who was waiting by the door.
The DJ began by playing chilled poolside tunes as the guests arrived and were served ice cold Cava Sangria and Champagne. Then as the day went on and the temp increased- so did the music. By sunset, the guests were dancing around the swimming pool and singing along to their favourite house anthems.
The party continued until the early hours when the guests were all taken home by the already waiting minibuses and luxury cars.
BBQ on the Catamaran
The pièce de résistance of Maartens birthday weekend arrived in the way of the Passion Catamaran. This large catamaran is without doubt one of the best additions to any event. The huge deck space makes it a fantastic platform for large groups. This purpose built party boat comes with BBQ facilities, and sound system- exactly what was on the cards for Maarten and his group.
For the final event, Maarten invited everyone; his friends family and work mates for one last hurrah before the weekend came to an end. They stepped aboard the catamaran in the marina of San Antonio and set sail into the Balearic Sea. They travelled around the coast and stopped off in a secluded bay to swim and fire up the BBQ.
Maarten decided to bring back his favourite DJ from the pool party and his guests danced and listened the the music while enjoying the drink and BBQ.
After everyone had eaten, the Catamaran headed back to the famous Cafe Mambo coastline sunset spot. Where they watched the sky turn purple and reflected on their fun filled weekend.
Unforgettable Moment
While Maarten’s group were placing their orders with the server at Ushuaïa, the Taste Ibiza host was making a few enquiries with our contacts in the office at Ushuaïa. After some negotiation, we were able to arrange an upgraded table for Maarten and his group. The host headed over to Maarten’s table to tell him the great news and show him the new table. VIP 1 is the area with the very best views of the stage and dance-floor, creating an unforgettable experience for any guests lucky enough to be sat there. The tables here have the feeling of being amongst the crowd yet with lots of space and comfortable seating.
Maarten and his group of workmates and friends were blown away with the new table location and that they had been given this free upgrade. We cant always offer this service but we will always try to get the very best deal available for our clients, and sometimes- that means free upgraded to rock star level!
