Ashley’s 50th Birthday- Ibiza Style

Over the last few years, 50th Birthday celebrations have been all the rage here in Ibiza. Fun loving guys and girls that want to celebrate in style and create an unforgettable experience for their friends. They have worked hard to create a lifestyle to be proud of and are able to share with those closest to them. For a milestone celebration such as a 50th, it is imperative that every last detail is thought about and planned down to the last T. That is where Taste Ibiza come in!

In the case of Ashley Milton, the key points of the brief were fantastic restaurants and mind blowing clubbing experiences. Read on for how we created a 50th Birthday “Ibiza weekender” celebration for Ashley Milton.

Accommodation

Ashley and Sareeta wanted to stay in somewhere chic, that reflected the bohemian style of Ibiza. They opted for the stunning Nobu Ibiza Bay hotel. With its turquoise and white decor the hotel perfectly reflects the essence of Ibiza. Located in Talamanca, the hotel is close to Ibiza town and right on the beach. It also has a relaxing pool area and of course the world renowned Nobu restaurant.

Restaurants

Ashley Milton and his wife Sareeta are what you would describe as “foodies”. They absolutely love discovering new cuisines and experiencing what restaurants have to offer throughout the world. This meant that when planning their weekend itinerary-only the very best would do. We consulted our little black book and pulled together some suggestions for gastronomic adventures that would be both delicious and also within special surroundings to celebrate.

Robata

Ashley was staying at one of our favourite hotels- Destino. So it made sense that this was restaurant number 1. There are various dining options at Destino, but Ashley and his friends opted for the Robata restaurant. This restaurant is home to the Xperience Chef Tasting Menu composed of 12 dishes which will take you through the Mediterranean and all over Asia and America. Robata has an open kitchen where guests can dine at the chef’s table while watching the team at work- a perfect start to the weekend.

Jul’s

No visit to Ibiza is complete without a visit to Jul’s. The cuisine is a fusion of flavours from all over the world with a predominance to Greek cuisine. The surroundings at Jul’s are perfect for a celebration. The garden has a romantic feel to it which, when accompanied with the dulcet music and the delicious food is simply spot on!

We arranged a large table for Ashley and his group. They were met with cocktails at the garden bar and then sat down for their dinner where they spent the rest of the night grazing through the menu and catching up with one another.

Lio

The show stopper of the birthday weekend had to be “LIO”. Lio is owned by the Pacha group so they are well versed at putting on a show. The food is Mediterranean with the very highest quality of each cuisine. Think caviar, lobster, king crab and Tomahawk steaks. But the shining star of Lio and the reason it is so popular is the performances. Each night the stage is taken over by some of the top cabaret performers from around the globe. Singers, dancers, aerial performers and comedians all putting on a show. Needless to say, ashley and his group spent most of the night dancing and applauding as each act blew the roof off the venue.

Calvin Harris at Ushuaïa

One of the key points of the whole weekender for Ashley to celebrate his birthday- was the music! An avid fan of electronic music, Ashley was set on heading to the best parties in Ibiza and celebrating in some serious Ibizan style with his guests.

First stop was Calvin harris at Ushuaia. This was a complete sell out party but we managed to use our little black book of contacts to gain access to one of the best tables in the venue. Ashley and his group were met at the VIP entrance by our VIP host, who took them to their table (without queuing) and introduced them to their server for the evening. The server took their order, made sure they were all laden down with Calvin Harris branded merchandise (a little perk of being in the VIP section) and stood back while they began to dance the night away.

Glitterbox at Hï

After speaking back and forth with Ashley and Sareeta, we suggested some extra parties that they might enjoy. The “Must-have” on the list as far as we were concerned was Glitterbox at Ushuaïa. Glitterbox is a glamorous, fun, upbeat party. Anyone that goes to Glitterbox as a new guest, leaves wanting more- each and every time! Ashley and Sareeta were no different.

As always; the Taste Ibiza host was waiting there at the door to escort the group straight to their table without queuing. They opted for a VIP table in the “Theatre” room. Named so because of the layout of the VIP area. VIP boxes line the sides of the room overlooking the dancefloor and DJ. The very front boxes are the closest to the DJ and provide lots of space for dancing! This was where Ashley and team set up for the night. They were taken care of by their server, who made them feel very welcome and went over and above to learn all of their preferred drinks and make sure their glasses were never empty.

UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT

The crowd at Lio applauded as the acrobatic act left the stage and was replaced by a beautiful female vocalist, dressed in an outfit worthy of the catwalk. The singer started to talk to the crowd, encouraging cheers and rounds of applause as everyone anticipated her performance. When she began to sing, there was complete silence in the audience and everyone felt their breath get taken away by the sound of her voice. She made her way across the stage and walked down the steps straight toward where Ashley and his group were sat. When she reached their table, she stretched her hand out toward Ashley’s wife Sareeta and began to serenade her. At this point Sareeta began to point out to the singer that it was Ashleys birthday. When the singer realised what Sareeta was trying to tell her, she immediately stopped singing and singled to stop the music. The singer then took Ashleys hand and pulled him up to standing. She began to sing happy birthday to him, the rest of the guests joined in and soon Ashley was turning a lovely shade of pink while everyone sang along and gave him a huge round of applause. What a moment!
