#24- Going out with a BANG!

October tends to be a blissful time on the island. Basking in the first flushes of autumn, it appears a completely different place to just a few months previous. The crowds disperse, the temperatures drop, and best of all? The biggest, baddest closing parties of the entire season rev into gear! Nature might be easing into hibernation but we’re certainly not, and neither are the clubs, so it’s time to don your dancing shoes for one last time and give the summer 2018 season the send off it deserves. Below we’ve outlined a selection of farewell fiestas that you simply can’t miss, so grab a pen, circle what takes your fancy and board a flight as fast as you can – this is our favourite time of year on the island – see you on the other side.

 

Tuesdays on Mars at Pacha – Tuesday 2nd October

A brand new party at Pacha this year, Tuesdays on Mars wooed the crowds with a promise to deliver big beat, progressive house and even bigger headliners. They didn’t disappoint, locking in the likes of Calvin Harris, Martin Solveig and Alesso throughout the season. But closing duties fall to the ever charismatic Fatboy Slim alongside MK, Waze & Odyssey and Danny Wade, who are all set to blast you to the red planet and beyond.

  

Cocoon at Pacha – Wednesday 3rd October

It was huge news when at the start of the season Sven Väth announced he’d be leaving Amnesia after 16 years, but he found a welcoming home at Pacha, where his loyal and devoted crowd followed him without question. For the closing, Papa Sven will come armed with a record bag full of weapons in Room 1 while Dana Ruh and André Galluzzitake the helm in Room 2. Melodic in parts, bone-crunching in others – techno doesn’t get better than this.

 

F*** Me I’m Famous at Pacha – Thursday 4th October

Another day, another headline slot to close for Monsieur Guetta – he sure does get around, doesn’t he? But F*** I’m Famous is the original and the best – no one fills Pacha like the big man and his collection of vibrantly infectious beats. He’s joined by Robin Schulz and JP Candela for the closing. Get there early or let us arrange VIP for you for this one.

 

Solomun & Dixon at Destino – Friday 5th October

What a techno twitching combination Solomun and Dixon make – we can’t think of a dreamier duo to close out the summer at alfresco venue Destino. What with Solomun’s sexy, soulful sound and Dixon’s immersive, head-spinning sonics, we’ll all be in for quite the ride. Arrive in time to see the sun setting beyond Dalt Vila in the distance – a magical Ibiza sight.

 

Ants and Ushuaïa closing at Ushuaïa – Saturday 6th October

The colony has banded together stronger than ever this season, ANTS continues to be Ushuaïa’s most popular party by a mile, so it’s no surprise that the Playa d’en Bossa venue’s closing party is being hosted by those garden-dwelling critters. It’s an absolute monster of a line-up featuring Luciano, Andrea Oliva, Steve Lawler, and Nic Fanciulli among many others, and there’s a guarantee that this one will absolutely go off.

HÏ Ibiza and Black Coffee Closing – Saturday 6th October

Ever since HÏ Ibiza became Playa d’en Bossa’s newest and shiniest super club last summer, South African superstar Black Coffee has made the venue his own, stamping his authority all over the pivotal Saturday night slot and earning a legion of fans in the process. It’s fitting then, that on Saturday 6 October the finale to his own residency will double up as the official HÏ Ibiza closing extravaganza. Support will come from regulars Virgil Abloh and Housekeeping with more names to be announced, but in all honesty, who really cares when you’ve got a front row spot to see Black Coffee in action behind the decks. We dare you not to dance. 

Elrow Closing at Amnesia – Saturday 6th October

We can say without even a hint of exaggeration that there’s no party in the world like a elrow. Now considered one of the biggest parties on the planet, its unique combination of escapism, tech house and confetti has made it an unmissable event on Ibiza week in, week out, and it goes without saying that in spite of the madness the party’s come to be associated with, it’s nothing compared to what you’ll experience at the high octane closing party on Saturday 6 October. Joris Voorn will be leading the charge behind the decks on the terrace, as well Claptone, George Privatti, Tini Gessler and a feisty little b2b between wAFF and De La Swing, while Eats Everything will be in charge all night long over in the main room. Expect the kind of rollicking sonic ride that come morning will leave you senseless – what a vibe. 

Circoloco at DC-10 – Monday 8th October

In the past, Circoloco at DC-10 used to claim the spot of last closing of the season – people would roll out of Space and head straight there to dive in. These days that’s not the case, but that doesn’t stop half the island turning up for what’s always one of the most legendary parties of the entire summer. The line-up’s never announced until a few days before the event, so you’ll just have to trust us on this one – buy the tickets now or forever regret missing out.

 

A Labyrinth Story at Pacha – Friday 12th October

Now in its second year, Hot Since 82 is well on the way to completing his mission of getting us lost in a weird and wonderful world of mesmerising music. A party where all kinds of sounds have made a home, for the closing, Daley will be joined by techno’s power couple, Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg, the legendary DJ Pippi, Willie Graff and Matthias Meyer. There’ll be happy faces and aching heads come the morning.

 

Amnesia closing – Saturday 13th October

Here’s a party that you need superhuman levels of stamina to make it through – the Amnesia closing party is notorious for the amount of stomping power required on the dance floor. And that’s testament to its line-ups, which always feature the crème de la crème of talent. The headliners have yet to be announced this year but hedge your bets and get involved anyway, if only so you can see the sun come up on the terrace.

 

Solomun+1 at Pacha Sunday 14th October

Holding up the rear as one of the final closing parties on the entire island, Solomun is always reluctant to bring his season to the close because his loving fans keep begging for more and more. This man’s popularity never wanes so expect this night to filled with wall-to-wall Diynamic devotees keen to soak up the last of the big man’s sultry techno. There’ll be there for some Adriatique action too, so find a spot by the DJ booth and let loose – this is your final chance.
